Zack Snyder had the idea for this movie after 2004’s Dawn Of The Dead. He wrote the script but wasn’t set to direct. It stayed like this for 10yrs when Zack rewrote the script and then pitched it to WB. WB wasn’t interested in making a zombie movie despite Zack telling them it was not just that. Then he pitched it to Netflix and they liked the idea so much that they greenlit it and also greenlit an animated series and prequel movie.

Zack Snyder, Zombies and Dave Bautista are three things that we never expected to see go together, and that is why this movie is going to be WILD !

Idk why everyone's acting like Snyder is such a good director. He had a few good movies but the majority of them kinda flopped. The Justice League wasn't amazing but compared to the piece of crap they release originally it was gold. They need to remove the "action" from zombie movies and focus more on horror. That's exactly what Dawn Of The Dead "2004" was, mainly horror until the very end of the movie which pretty much was still horror with a few explosions.

Man of Steel was a financial success, 300 was a financial success, BvS did good at the box office but wasn't a success critically, Watchmen did fine critically but wasn't a success in the box office (mainly due to being before its time), Dawn of the dead was a success critically and at the box office. He only did one movie that was an out and out fail and that was Sucker Punch. But not every director is gonna hit it out of the park every time. Zack Snyder is loved for a reason.
